Exercise activity, what counts?

Wednesday, March 16, 2011

Okay, we finally hit a gorgeous day, it is 61 degrees and I am taking advantage of it. I took the dog for a walk and now I am doing some yard work. I come in to see if my 60 minutes of raking counts as an exercise activity and it doesn't! But if you play darts or stand in a stream to fish it does?! Who figured this out? I'm sorry, but I worked my butt off raking the yard for an hour and it was EXERCISE, I do not care what anyone says.

There, I have had my say about that.

Now I will go rest. Tomorrow, I may not be able to move!

I did find gardening, raking, and even painting! who knew!? I still have so much to learn! but it did cost me an entire day of recoup. But I am back up and moving today and feeling great so this is a good sign. Usually that much rough movement would cost me more than one day of recuperation. So I definitely see this as improvement. Yeah for me!

I think there is 'yard work'. Did you check similar activities? It is clearly exercise..even if you cant' figure out how to count it...you did it for yourself..and your yard. I know gardening is considered exercise..or I could be confusing it with just 'activity'.

Raking is under the "home activities" tab in the fitness tracker. Also, it comes up if you search "raking". Hope that helps!
