Trying to refocus on my healthy life style.

A fellow Spark person called ***Lisa*** wrote a posting that brought this blog about.

She spoke about family members that did not take the healthy life style path. Not taking medications as they should for a medical condition. Eating foods that they knew darn well are not healthy. Not exercising etc.

Oh boy was this timely for me because just last night I had written in my dairy/journal that I was not doing well and I needed to refocus. I have just had a 3lb gain.

Here is the truth about me!!!!!
I am a diabetic, have heart issues and 3 stents. I am morbidly obese. I have high blood pressure, osteopenia (sp) and I have a chronic vitamin D deficient. And I was just treated for kidney stones.

BUT I go to the doctors on a regular basis.
I'm compliant with medications.
I don't smoke.
I don't drink.
Boy am I a goodie two shoes, you should all give me a medal......................NOT

What I am complacent with.
I don't work out, I barely move each day.
I don't eat healthy.
I don't get enough sleep.

What am I going to do about it!?!?! Boy that is the million dollar question.

Plan meals.
Make a shopping list and STICK TO IT!!!!!
Plan 3 meals a day and 2 snacks a day.
Eat within my calorie range.
Exercise 10 - 30 mins each day.
Drink at least the 64 ozs and work towards 3-4 liters. (kidney doc. suggestion)

What are my Goals:
Not to be a burden to my family because of my health issues.
To travel to exotic country's. Like Tibet, Bali and India. Guyana (where my husband was born.) Australia (my husbands brother lives there) and go back to England and see my brother before we are to old or ill to travel.
To move with ease and lightness that this current weight does not allow me too do.
Be sexier for my husband.
Be able to keep up with the grand kids.

I am worthy of a better life than I have put myself into now. So change is on its way!!!!

    There's always the 17 day if you can't stick to South Beach! emoticon I think it's more structured in the initial stages and that's why I like it. I have fewer choices yet they are healthy and I'm feeling great.

    This is a wonderful blog. You KNOW you can do this - in fact you HAVE been doing it! I like to sit down with myself and take stock of what I've been doing and where I can improve. Because of health concerns, exercise is the hardest thing for me as well. But I do what I can and keep an eye out for the signs of "overdoing". I am very good at "overdoing".

    I love the life you see for yourself. Now just reach out and take it - just a little piece at a time. We can do this!
