My first weigh in

When i first joined SparkPeople in 2009, i used to compulsively check my weight like, at least three times a day. As you can imagine, most of the time the scales never had anything nice to tell me. Worse, i wasnt deriving anything by being so focussed on just my weight. I didnt learn much i continued with my lazy habits so i quickly went back to my starting weight. I wasnt happy about this. I decided to set new goals for myself, one of which was to weigh myself just once a week.

This last week, i've had to constantly remind myself that i promised to weigh myself once a week. So each time the urge came to check my weight, i'd instead read an article on health, motivation, fitness or nutrition. Or i'll browse recipes. Its been a good experience for me so far. I believe that all i've learnt just this past week has coloured most of my choices, decisions and portion sizes and that is why i lost so much in just one week.

I had planned to lose just under a kg each week, but i actually lost two kg. It just goes to prove that the little changes you make in your lifestyle can make all the difference in your life.
