March SADness

Tuesday, March 15, 2011

My last blog was about two weeks ago and I thought the change was just me being a complainer...

I already admit to suffering from seasonal affective disorder, and I just knew that other folks were just being nice in the b!tching sessions about the weather. It has become clear, now – it isn’t just me!! A Sunday comic over the weekend helped me to realize this. The teen comic character was a complaining about how long and unrelenting the winter has been.

Now, maybe that comic was written long ago, and is just a repeat, but I doubt it!

Today has just been one of those days. It wasn’t even that bad outside! Although not too bad, I still didn’t want to get up in the morning. Then, it was dreary and raining most of the afternoon. The residual film of winter seems to be clinging to me though: no energy, hungry, tired, couldn’t get warm enough (or got too hot), and really didn’t want to go outside for any reason. It probably didn’t help that I sat in the office all day making & taking phone calls.

Well, this day is just about over and I’m heading off to bed. Tomorrow is going to be a long and busy one.

Really, all I want is temperatures in at least the 50s, and some sunshine… for a few days in a row. Is that too much to ask for in the last half of March?

DH says, “don’t worry, winter will be over in a couple of months.” emoticon

emoticon what a sense of humor.

Lee, spring will be here soon, maybe not soon enough! For me this has been one of the best winters ever! For years we were in a drought and it felt like winter was over before it even began. But, I know how you feel because my mother hated day after day of rain, and she loved the sunshine. It sort of energized her, so you are probably the same way. I feel bad for you now, but soon I will be hot and miserable and you will feel happy! emoticon emoticon

DH needs a little tap on the noggin for that one!! I know EXACTLY how you feel; it's not just you. Lucky for me, today was in the upper 50s (at least) and sunny, because it's helped me energize a little and raised my spirits. I've gotten so bad this year that I can't even motivate well at work! But the light is visible at the end of the tunnel. Soon....soon...soon...we shall see sunshine, warmth, and gentle breezes. emoticon

In Iowa we have wrestling and basketball championships and call it March Madness with a smile. Although sometimes my favorites don't win.
