REMEMBERING MY MOM

Today March 10th, 1991 my mother died at 10:41 AM from breast cancer at the age of 47. She lost her battle after 11 years. She was my best friend and I think of her each and everyday and wish she were here. She has missed all three of my brothers get married, 5 grandchildren being born, my dad retiring......but she prepared me to me a good mom to two children, one with special needs, ....a good friend and hopefully a good person. Mother-daughter bonds are very special and unique.....my daughter once told me at the age of 5 that God sent her to be my best friend because he needed my mom in heaven..and she is my best friend!! Live each day to the fullest...no regrets!!

    I was lucky my mom got to see all of my children born but it's nearly 28years since she passed away and I still so wish she was here to give her a hug or ask advice about something!

    Dad died 4 years ago miss him too...but they are here in my heart with lots of memories to go with them and one day we will be reunited.

    I too do get cross with people who moan about thier parents and tell them how lucky they are to have them around, what I wouldn't give to have had longer with my mom!

    Hubby parents too have both died, his mom with cancer although we did have her for around 17 years longer than we expected so we must be grateful for that, his dad died with emphysema they were so young but again can only hold them in our hearts and remember the good times!

    I can empathize with you. My mom and dad died in a car accident in 1984 and I still miss them. Whenever anyone says something unkind about their mom or dad, I tell them how lucky they are to have their mom and/or dad still here with them. I alway think how nice it would have been to have mom and dad here while my children were growing up. Mom would have done such fun things with them, I'm sure, and dad would have spoiled them silly. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

    My mom died from Ovarian cancer a week after she turned 59. Thanks for sharing your story. There is a special mother-daughter bond, isn't there? My mom has been gone 13 years. I miss her. Your daughter sounds like an angel. Have a great weekend.
