Letting Go Of The Past...

Sunday, March 06, 2011

There's a little gift book called "Don't Look Back", illustrated by Mary Engelbreit. Here are some of the lines from it:

As you travel through life there are always those time when decisions just have to be made...
When the choices are hard, and the solutions seems scarce...
And the rain seems to soak your parade!

There are some situations where all you can do is to simply let go and move on...
Gather courage together and choose a direction that carries you toward a new dawn.

So pack up your troubles and take a step forward - the process of change can be tough...
But think about all the excitement ahead if you can be stalwart enough!

Perhaps you'll find new friendships that spring from new interests as you challenge your status quo...
And learn there are so many options in life, and so many ways you can grow!

Perhaps you'll find comfort in knowing your friends are supportive of all that you do...
And believe that whatever decisions you make, they'll be the right choices for you!

So keep putting one foot in front of the other...
And taking your life day by day.

There's a brighter tomorrow that's just down the road.
Don't look back - you're not going that way!

(The illustrations are just darling - wish I could share them here.)
Anyway, I wrote this because really I need it as a reminder to myself. Hopefully I can be stalwart enough, and just keep putting one foot in front of the other to make changes for the good that I need to make. I know I have many Spark Friends on this journey with me. Don't look back - we're not going that way! emoticon

Love these inspirational verses, Ena. This one reminds me of the poems/verses written by the British poet, Patience Strong, also the US poet, Helen Steiner Rice, both whom I love to read.
Reminds me of a chorus I used to sing:-

    "Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face,
And the things of earth will grow
    strangely dim,
In the light of His glory &

    Onwards and Upwards!

    Thanks for posting.

I didn't get to read this over my working weekend, but now I know why!! I really needed it today. My resolve to courageously make those decisions and not look back. Thanks, Ena. I hope your day & rest of your week is good. Hugs, Brenda

They are very wise words Ena...thanks for sharing them.
Our Lord is never behind us if we are looking unto Him! That's where our focus should be....He will never lead us wrong.
