New Thing For March

As my new year's resolution, I had said that I wanted to try something new for fitness each month. I have added in some stair climbing, and have started doing the hundred pushup challenge program. This month, it looks like I am going to be trying to do a virtual 5k once a week on the treadmill. I am hoping that by summer I will be able to do some outside with much faster times than I used to, even with the hills. Managed to do a 1 incline treadmill 3.1 mile walk in 42:12. For me that is quite good, but unsure how that would compare with outdoor times with some hills, as all the area in my city has hills. Those virtual races, may not all be 5ks, as I have done 10ks before too, and those are also an option in the spark virtual races, as are 1 miles. Maybe I will vary it a bit, but not sure. Still hoping that come summer, I can walk further than 8 miles at one time. Never walked further than that before at one time.

One person recommended flexibility training, as I have no idea what exactly that means, I will be looking it up and may decide to add some of that too.

    Sounds like you have a good plan. I like the idea of a new focus each month. I can't speak for how indoor compares to outdoor, but I know I can't wait for warmer weather. I'm itching to get outside!
