March forth!

Saturday, March 05, 2011

So, before I start in on reviewing the past month--I wanted to just say that I had a "Woohoo!" moment today. It has eben a gorgeous day outside. The sun is shining, it's hovering right around 50 degrees...blue skies...ah, it's been gorgeous. Today was one of those days where I was just itching to get out and go for a run. I slept in (which was lovely) and had a leisurely breakfast. Waited for about an hour and then I took off for the park. A lot of people had the same idea as me--I'm thinking we've all been cooped up indoors for far too long. Initially, it was quite cold--my arms were freezing and I couldn't wait to get going with the jogging because I knew that my arms would warm up. I made it a little further along the path than I did Wednesday, saw a few people I knew along the way and made it back to my car. I've taken to listening to the wokrout summaries and was so excited to hear her say:

"Workout complete. Workout time: 40 minutes, 21 seconds. Workout distance 2.53 miles. Workout pace 15:58/mile."

Did you catch that? UNDER SIXTEEN MINUTES PER MILE!!! :) 10 minute mile, here I come!

February Goals in Review:
***Water: 8-10 8oz glasses daily CHECK!
***Couch to 5K training 3 times per week CHECK! Admittedly, for the first couple of weeks I was only going out twice a week, but as I progressed, I pushed myself to the full three sessions per week.
***Blog once a week CHECK! In fact, I often blogged at least twice a week. It's been so good for me to get back into writing. I love it!

BONUS GOAL: Exercise 5 times per week. CHECK! CHECK! CHECK! I've actually done that two weeks in a row now. :)

Biography/Autobiography to Read:
"Choosing to SEE" by Mary Beth Chapman. Man alive...this was a good book to read. Very touching, funny, story about the real stuff of life. I love the encouragement that I received from reading the book. And I tell you what, I don't think I will ever listen to the song "Big House" by Audio Adrenaline and not think of her story.

Standard Goals for Whole Year:
***Read Bible & "My Utmost for His Highest" each day CHECK! I'm getting a lot more out of my Bible reading than "My Utmost for His Highest", but that's the way it should go, right?
***Take a picture and post it on Project 365 & Facebook each day CHECK! I just updated it through yesterday. I haven't taken a picture yet today--waiting for my nephew to arrive for some play time. :)
***Write in a journal daily CHECK! Even if it's just a one-sentence blurb, it's been enough. I love it. And I'm finding that I'm processing through things a lot better than I was before. I'm so thankful for this outlet.
***Blog weekly CHECK!

So, this leads me to the month of March. I said in my status update earlier this week that there were so many things that I wanted to accomplish in March, but I didn't think that I would be able to complete all of them. I'm breaking things down and keeping it simple this month.

March Goals:
***Water: 8-10 8oz glasses/day
***Exercise 30-60 minutes, 5 times/week--Continue with C25K training and add in Water Aerobics, since March is such a crazy month and I won't necessarily be able to get in my evening Zumba class
***Personal care items done twice a day
***Begin working through the "Made To Crave" Bible study by Lysa TerKeurst

Biography to read:
"Mosaic" by Amy Grant. This was actually not what I was expecting, but i'm loving it. She basically has written and collected a series of short storeis, brief glimpses into her life and compiled them into this book. It's nice to read because they're so short. And I love how she ties in different songs she has sung over her career.

Standard Goals for Whole Year:
***Read Bible & "My Utmost for His Highest" each day
***Take a picture and post it on Project 365 & Facebook each day
***Write in a journal daily
***Blog weekly
