Time for some honesty...

Thursday, March 03, 2011

Yes, it’s true, I’m slowly but surely making my way back into the sparking world. I’m really excited about seeing what everyone has been up to. I’d forgotten what a positive place this is…

In my absence from spark I’ve had a lot of changes happen in my life…

I married the dorky redneck on a perfectly sunny Saturday before (Canadian) Thanksgiving.

We ran about trying to prepare to buy our first house together and at the last minute, decided to stay in the house I currently own for a little while longer and remain a married couple with two houses (it’s a long story…). So I’ve been enjoying life sprucing up my little house and turning it into our home instead of just a place that was going to sell any minute.

However, this absence from spark has also meant an absence from my sparking lifestyle. I wouldn’t say I’ve been completely off the wagon these last few months, but I’ve been hanging on by a thread for a good portion of it. My workouts up until recently were pretty non-existent and my nutrition was sub par. I think I honestly had just had enough of it all after the wedding and wanted to not think about it for a while. I ate pizza, I sat on my butt…and I gained. I’m not sure how much because honestly, I haven’t had the balls to get on a scale, my head isn’t in the space for that quite yet. I still fit into all my size 6 pants/dresses (as well as my wedding dress) but I know they’re definitely fitting not quite the way they did.

I like that I came to this point on my own. That if I’m being honest, I just didn’t care enough to get back on that wagon fully until now. I’m working out 5/6 days a week, I’m eating clean and I’m pursuing an active life with my husband. It’s not 100% yet. I still have less than no desire to track. I might get there, I might not, but I know that I’m feeling great, making healthy choices and I’m excited to get back on this journey.

Your pictures are wonderful! I think that if you're making all of those good choices, and you're happy with where things are going right now, you shouldn't worry about tracking. If a little while down the road you find that you're not making the progress you want, you can track then. For now, enjoy the positive things you ARE doing!

I can completely relate to you. I do think after the stress of planning a wedding, and losing the weight, it's important to relax a bit. I've also been hanging on by a thread, but am also motivated to get back to where I was on that beautiful day. Good luck, and keep up the good work!

Congrats on the wedding! You guys look amazing together!!! Beautiful pictures!!

Glad you are finding what works for you right now. A healthy lifestyle includes doing what feels right both physically and mentally. Sometimes we're not in the right set of mind and we need a break from it all! Good news is, you are back at it, and while it may not be at 100% of what you want it to be, that's good news: there's room for improvement!

Keep it up girl! So happy to hear from ya!
