Small victories earn large rewards

After getting results on my BMI , and my cholesterol yesterday, I really am encouraged to be healthier.
No they were not great, however better than they used to be. My bad cholesterol number was 238 (should be under 200, some doctors are now saying 100). Now before you say ouch, you have to realize that a year ago it was over 400. It is funny what encouragement is when something is still bad, but less bad.
So what did my talk with the health doctor reveal?
1) Adding sugar is bad.
2) Fats as in Trans fat in general are bad.
3) Eat nuts daily.
4) White breads and white paste is bad, Whole wheat and whole grain is better for you.

So today began my change. My small victory was to eliminate the 2 spoons of sugar in my coffee cup (usually 3 cups a day). You know what, it is pretty good with some flavored no fat creamer alone. That is 6 spoonfuls of sugar a day I have now taken out of my daily routine. Now I am sure I am picking low hanging fruit, but a win is a win, and I am feeling pretty good about it.
