Day 1 - Week 1 - 5K Walk/Jog Program

I started the 5K Walk/Jog program today. I can't remember the last time I jogged. Maybe in high school? I was only able to jog for about 30 seconds each time, but I did jog. That's all that matters. It may take me an extra week or two to get through the program, but I'm going to keep pushing along. It would be nice to be able to jog a 5K.

    I am sure you can do this. I had never run in my life and currently am in Week 6 of the programme.

    I have to throw mine in. When I started running about 6 months ago, I couldn't run faster than 5.1 mph nor longer than 40 seconds before I had to take a break. Now, fast forward. I finished my first 5K in Nov in 32:41 which is an average of 5.7 mph, my second one New Year's Eve in 33:10 which is 5.6 and just did a 10K. The length of time I can run at a stretch varies depending on me and my body but I still go out there. Persistence pays off; just keep lacing up those shoes and you'll be better in no time.

    You are doing well, just keep working at it and in no time you will be done with the 5k!! Good luck remember YOU ARE WORTH IT!
