It's too weird...

Sunday, February 27, 2011

I've spent the last 20+ years of my life eating high fibre foods. Not to mention avoiding, like the plaque, any white foods. Now, since a bout of Diverticulitis, I HAVE TO eat white stuff and not much fibre. Need to give my intestines a rest for a while.

I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around this type of eating but I don't want another episode like that which put me in hospital for 5 days! Apparently it's quite common in people over 45. Hmm. emoticon, who knew?

Anyway, it doesn't seem to matter what I eat these days, everything upsets me to some extent. I'm hoping to be able to add back the fibre to my diet very soon. Probably in a week or so. Then I won't feel so guilty about eating white bread and rice, etc., even if it does taste good.

One positive from all this is that my husband loves the "new" diet. He's never been big on healthy anything. Well, Arthur, don't get too used to it.
