Seized Up

Saturday, February 26, 2011

It seems strange that another week has ticked away. The world events across this 168 hours were profound, subtle, wondrous, inspiring, and down right scary. My life seems trite and dull compared to those in the midst of radical change. But, I’ve been there, done that, got a tee shirt, won and lost all in the same breath.

This moment in time is all you have. Tomorrow is uncertain, yet hopeful. So gird your loins and promise yourself to seize this moment and this day for all it is worth. Remember the positives experiences and reflect on their meaning. Provide yourself the luxury to bask in the knowledge that the flower you stopped to smell may not be there tomorrow, for you seized the moment.

It does nobody any good if we are all scurrying around like rats in a maze, all day long. If you are in a rat race, at the end of the day you still are a rat. Join the human race and seize the accolades afforded to those who look up and witness the wonder, the majesty and grandeur of the serendipitous moments occurring in a timeless motion of life around us.

Let loose the bated breath you hold. Shout out the meaning of life and grasp that once in a lifetime opportunity. Be you! Be free! The billions who have gone before you echo this message across time.

Your journey is all you have. Make the most of every moment and be at peace.

Thank you! Sometimes we all need to slow down and be thankful for our lives, our freedom and the blessing of God's creation all around us!

Seize the moment and grab on to your peace. Yesterday is gone, and we have no promise for tomorrow, so all we can do it really live today. Thanks for the reminder Vince.

Peace at heart is such a wonderful gift. Since I'm stuck having to work today (to help my team recover from the unravelings created by someone who so much needs peace at heart), this was a lovely reminder. Thank you,

This morning, I thought...tonight we will have a game night. This may not be what you are going for...but it has been years since we had game night as a family. I am seizing the day and coming up with some games that we can all enjoy. I have 4 kiddos ranging from 15 mo to 9 1/2 years old.

With life's busy schedules, it is hard not to be the rat scurrying to get things done. Work demands, family demands, twists and turns of the maze as life throws you new challenges to deal with. We can't stop time or have control over the new challenges that come our way, but we do have control over how we manage and process them. In order to control and manage that which we can, we do have to stop in the midst of conflict, take a breath, calm ourselves, and focus on the positives. It is the best way to be able to process, manage, and make good decisions. And yes, seize those moments when you can, for they are fleeting, but they are in your heart and mind forever as another positive to reflect on. Thanks for a provocative blog!

How did you know I feel like a rat in a maze? Hehehe I even live in a high rise which I refer to the rat holdings with it rats coves. :)

And peace be with you Vince.

It's compelling to watch events upfold on CNN, but I am limiting it to an hour a day. I hope the people can fulfill their destiny in a peaceful way.

    Enjoy the weekend!
