The New Me: Part 3- Rebuild Strong Self-Esteem
My passion for a full life and my quest with Sparkpeople.com is to achieve the very best that I can be in my mind, body, soul and spirit.
Through my research in self awareness, I have been studying how self esteem or how a person regards themselves relates to weight gain. I have discovered that from my various life experiences, rejections and disappointments, my self esteem has become dangerously low.
Research shows that the key to healthy self value is the amount of unconditional love and acceptance that we give to ourselves. The more love we give to ourselves and the more that we can accept ourselves the way that we are, will determine the strength of our self esteem.
If we have a tendency to judge and be "hard on ourselves" or critical of ourselves, we are actually wounding and putting ourselves at the risk of compulsive eating to sooth our own painful self inflicted wounds!!
Today, I pledge, regardless of the past experiences, to take full responsibility for the direction that my self esteem will go.
Focus on how I value myself and not on how others value me.
Take full responsibility to rebuild my self value with positive affirmations.
Build myself up and not allow life's experiences to tear down my self worth.

Every one of us have good things that we really like about ourselves.
The first step is to make a list of all of the positive self affirmations you can think of about yourself and to repeat them twice a day, in the morning when you rise and in the evening when you go to bed.
By consistently repeating the positive affirmations and checking throughout the day to make sure that your behaviors are on target with the confirmations, we will build ourselves up and override the past negative thoughts and beliefs like "I am too fat".
By replacing the judgmental and negative thoughts with constructive new beliefs, we will transform ourselves into our empowered new image.
