Don't stop, Can't stop now!!

One of my biggest downfalls of my previous eating style was Coke. I loved it, drank it, practically bathed in the stuff. It was all I drank for almost 5 years when I worked at a fast food restaurant. Had to work early? Drank a 32oz Coke when I got there. Had to work late? Drank about 3, 32oz Cokes to finish my night awake. I was addicted. Even after having all that Coke at work I still bought it at the grocery store.
The first thing I tried to do when I joined SP was to cut out Coke forever. It was my vice that I couldn't pass up. I thought drinking my 8 glasses of water a day would help and at first it did. But then I started to crave Coke. I usually went on what I call a Coke bender and allowed myself to drink Coke once or twice a week. I problem was I would drink almost a 12 pack in the one day.
I tried more times then I can count trying to cut Coke and pop in general out of my eating style forever. And every time it nailed and I was right back where I started.
I started getting better at limiting my Coke intake. I told my boyfriend what I was trying to do and he agreed that we both needed to stop drinking so much of it. We decided to stop buying it at the grocery store and substitute it with Vitamin Water or Gatorade. We also tried to limit ourselves from going out to eat to avoid wanting to order a Coke. I finally managed to find a goal that worked for me. I allowed myself one day a week to drink one Coke. I did pretty good with it. Until my brain found a loophole in my goal. I said one Coke, but didn't specify how big. Having one can was one Coke, but also ordering the Great Biggie size Coke was one Coke...
After almost 3 years of trying to stop drink Coke I came up with a new goal. I finally notice the percentage of success I was having instead of how many days I went with out on my SP tracker. When I noticed this I was around 72% successful of my no Coke goal. My current goal (which I think I said in a past blog) is to be over 80% Coke free. I like that I can be successful with it without being 100%, but I can also up the goal when 80% gets easy for me.
Trying to get that 72% up to over 80% ended up starting a new Spark Streak for me. First, it was 11 days w/o Coke. That climbed to 14 days, then 15, then 16! I am currently on day 23 with out Coke and at 85% Coke free!! This started on the first of February. I am going to shoot for the whole month Coke free!!!!!!!
