not giving up

Monday, February 21, 2011

I tell ya what, doesn't matter how long one stays gone from SP, friends just welcome ya back with open arms! Thank you!! (Especially my sweet Karen)

Giving up is just an easy way of not asserting myself to see this to the end! I have gained back at least 15 lbs since October, and about 25 since last summer. I couldn't figure out why my body was not losing weight..no matter what I did. I went to the doctor and I found out I have a problem with my thyroid, let me tell you when someone says they have a thyroid problem, listen to them..its no joke!! Sometimes it feels like a mac truck has hit me. I haven't worked out in 2 months because of being too tired. On that note, I will be getting a new workout that takes only ten minutes in a day, I can do multiple work outs, but at least i will be moving my tushy. I will not let this thyroid issue get the best of me. I will lose weight, I will get to my goal weight, no matter how long it takes me.

I will not give up!!!! no matter what!

I'm glad you came back and found out the problem. Once you get to the therapeutic dose of thyroid medicine, your tiredness should improve and it will be easier to lose weight. It usually takes 6 to 8 weeks before they can retest to see the impact the dose change. It will probably take several times of increasing it before they find the therapeutic dose for you. Then every 6 months to a year they will need to check it again to see if anythings changed. There are somes spark teams for hypothyroidism. You can check my spark page to see which ones I belong to. There is hope! Once they get this under control, you will be able to lose weight. I lost 152 pounds even though I have pretty severe hypothyroidism. I now exercise up 2.5 hours a day all at once. So you can get back to a normal life once they have this back under control.
