I arrived home from Florida last evening. The temperatures were creeping up to the 70's when it was time to leave. However I saw and felt the warm sun!!!!

Every morning my 2 buddies and I power walked all around Panama City Beach. Always cool to start, but as we got moving we only felt warmth from the sunshine. I was in my glory as it has seemed like a very long winter here in Ontario, and we aren't close enough to Spring yet.

We all ate very healthy, smaller portions, and drank our water. Of course some heavy calories, it's a vacation! We had 2 meals out, healthy, but definitely high in calories. I was very happy to stand on the scale today and didn't gain a pound! That power walking had to be the trick, and I wish I could continue. The wind is sooo strong and cold and of course more snow is on the way. I guess back to the treadmill for awhile.

I sure do feel better just being in the sunshine, it does wonders for my mood. Now I just have to keep up the exercising, as I wait for Spring to arrive. I need no motivation as it warms, because walking will always be my favourite exercise!

I really think I was meant to live somewhere else hmmmm, maybe when I retire.

    I am in Nebraska, and our winter has been COLD, until the last week or so, when temperatures have soared up into the 70's for a day or so, mostly in the 50's, but still so wonderful compared to the zero and sub zero wind chills we have had. I got to go outside both Monday and Tuesday for my walks. I LOVED it. It was simply exhilirating! I walked faster than I had gone last fall before I had to move inside and walk at home with my Leslie Sansone DVD's. Leslie increased my speed. But after walking around 1.25 miles 3 times in two days, I woke up Wed. morning with sore shins, thighs, LEGS! OUCH! I tried to walk slowly with the soreness on Wed., but since then I haven't tried any walking for exercise at all. I hate that, because I enjoyed walking so much this week, more than I did last fall. It was so wonderful to be out in the late winter thaw, enjoying the OUTSIDE, and loving the feeling that I was walking FAST! My husband even walked with me Tuesday night--that was sweet. NOW, it's just maddening, to HURT. I suppose it was the speed that caused this. I have been doing the Leslie Sansone DVD's with regularity, but I guess walking that fast inside is just not the same as actually taking steps and going somewhere outside! Oh well, my legs will heal soon hopefully and I'll be back at it. I suppose by then, our typical Nebraska weather will have returned to winter temps and I'll have to walk inside for another month or so before it warms up again for the spring. Sounds like you had a wonderful vacation--I am very jealous!
