Baby steps

My week has been a bit up and down so far. I have been trying to make a conscious effort to change my habits and follow my the habits I set down to achieve my goals. I have been doing well with my water intake and have gotten in a walk everyday. I haven't been tracking or making the best decisions diet-wise but its a work in progress.

One thing I did accomplish this week, however, is that I finally found a job. I've been looking for months and today I got the news that I have a temporary position doing administrative work for one of the local universities. Not my dream job but its definitely a step in the right direction. This could lead to something permanent if they decide that they like me. I start tomorrow and I hope it does well.

Getting a job has another benefit other than the (much needed) income. I find I lose more weight when I stay on a schedule. That's really hard when you have nothing scheduled in your day. I'm really hopeful that this job will help get my life going in the right direction.
