SWIFT RECOVERY from a night out at a fine Italian restaurant

Last night I made myself proud.

Throughout the day yesterday I counted my calories ensuring I left a plentiful amount for my evening dinner of delicious Italian cuisine.

After work I did 35 minutes of High Intensity Circuit Training at Greco burning just over 400 cals. Making sure I felt the burn and created a deficit once again to enjoy the night.

Once arriving at the restaurant, which was absolutely beautiful by the way, I ordered a 5 oz glass of house red and a bottle of San Pellegrino.

First things first I skipped on the bread. Go me! (I LOVE carbs...)

While perusing the menu debating whether or not I'd opt for yet ANOTHER salad while out with friends, I decided I'd just go for it and eat what I really wanted - PASTA!

After deciding that pasta was the choice of the night I had to choose the one I wanted.

After thorough consideration I decided on the Pescatore.

The Pescatore was a linguine with marinara sauce and seafood (mussels, shrimp and scallops) but I substituted the linguine for whole wheat spaghetti.

I ate my meal and drank an entire bottle of San Pellegrino to myself! Needless to say...I was frequenting the bathroom by the end of the evening.

Full as heck and happy with my decisions I made I saw at the table digesting while everyone else I was with looked at the desert menu.

Before I knew it, a slice of incredible looking cake was headed in my direction with a candle on top lit up and my friends are singing me Happy Birthday. OH NO! Cake was not part of the game plan! I couldn't pass up cake that my friends bought for me so I gave everyone a spoon and had a couple bites to myself and then shared the scrumptious delight with all my friends.

I left the restaurant satisfied with my decision, FULL of water, and with a smile on my face.

When I got home I did two minutes of wall sits and two minutes of walking lunges to get some major muscles to start some burning . This morning I dragged my butt out of bed at 6 am and and I was up just .4 of a pound from the evening before, prior to going to dinner (post workout).

I went downstairs for my workout doing an extra 15 minutes of cardio totalling 45 minutes and over 400 calories burned.

I stepped on the scale and VoilĂ ! Down a whole pound.

This is just a great example to myself that eating out and enjoying yourself while still maintaining steady weightloss.

Goodbye restaurant anxiety....HELLO making responsible and satisfying choices!
