Back into routine

Thursday, February 17, 2011

So, I seem to be settling back into routine. The healthy active routine, not the injured and forced to be lazy routine!
Last week I watched the scale slowly rise. I knew it was in response to my hormones and a certain visitor I was expecting so I decided to stay off to avoid becoming discouraged. Well, today I stepped back on and I had lost the three I was up last week and another three!
I am guessing those pounds are due in part to a couple of other changes I have made too. It has been almost a week since I stopped drinking diet soda. I went off regular soda at the start of this journey and would occasionally indulge in a diet soda. The last couple of months it has been a daily indulgence. I know part of it is that I feel I require a certain amount of caffeine (I work 70+ hours/week....) and I don't really drink coffee or tea. Anyway, I quit cold turkey on Saturday. I know there isn't any benefit to consuming the soda and that it was making it even more difficult to absorb nutrients I need.
Also, it has been almost a week since I consumer gluten of any sort. I have been considering going gluten free for many years. I know I have a reaction to it. It doesn't happen all of the time but it happens frequently. The start of the week I really had to think about not eating it. At this point I can put much less thought into it!
My next step will be to cut way back on refined sugar.
Well, it's time to head to the gym! Have a wonderful day everyone!

WOWSER!!! What a break through!!! Good luck on your gluten free life style too!!! My hubby and I went through the process to see if either of us has a sensitivity and we don't.
Just a thought, but do you track sodium?? It was a real eye opener when i added it to my tracker. I thought I was being so good.
