Project Pixie Dust: Day 92 02-13-11

So it seems that the mystery illness has me in its death grip...woke up with a sore throat, and I thought that was kind of it, but once I got up to make breakfast I realized I was a bit achy and weak...a lot achy and weak. My legs felt like spaghetti, and after putting in a load of laundry and packing one measly box, I was ready to get back to bed. I knew by nine-thirty that I wouldn't be doing my scheduled training run today. And a shame that was, because today we had a high of 48 degrees and it was sunny! I would have been running outside, and instead I was so tired and weak that all I could really do was "rest" on the couch and wrap up knicknacks, pictures, and coffee mugs. Just my luck! The only thing I can hope is that Punxsutawney Phil (yes, I had to Google that spelling) was right about an early spring and that I'll have lots of outdoor running opportunities coming up! For a rest day, though, I was fairly productive, and got four loads of laundry done, and our pile of packed boxes is at 13.75, will be at 14 by the time I head to bed.
We also took a little drive out to our new house again, just to peek at it, and Target and McDonald's were conveniently along our route. Really, we were just stir-crazy and looking for an excuse to get out of the apartment for a bit and catch some sunshine! It was fun to see our cute little house - at least from the outside - again. And, at McDonald's we enjoyed a little afternoon snack and let Timmy burn off a little steam on the PlayPlace. It was nice to see the mountains of snow melting and the grass peaking out from the edges...spring is coming!
It's going to be a looooong work week. I work as normal and am on call, after hours, so essentially, to me, it will feel like I'm at work 24 hours a day! (Luckily I can sleep through parts of it.) My biggest fear about the mystery illness is that, if I lose my voice completely, which tends to happen when I get upper respiratory-type illnesses, I won't be able to talk on the phone if someone calls me. Yeesh. Let's just hope that doesn't happen. And/or that nobody tries to call me after hours...that would be even cooler. And then next week, I'm off to Sacramento for work, for four nights. It's just go, go, go until closing day! That's why we started our packing now.
Drink my water, 64+ ounces: DONE (65 days running)!
Eat five servings of fruits and veggies: DONE (43 days running)!

Eat mindfully all day and night: I give myself a B- today. Breakfast was light because I was feeling queasy and blech. Lunch was bland comfort food - mac 'n' cheese - and maybe a little too much of it. Afternoon snack at McDonald's, kept it pretty small. For dinner, we had some leftover shredded chicken in the form of barbeque, with pasta and broccoli. A nice soothing bowl of rice pudding for dessert. Stayed within my limits, but feel kind of eh about my lunch and afternoon snack. All in all, not bad though.
Running: I had to call off today's run. There is no way I could have done it without collapsing. It was just a three mile run, so not a great loss, although I would have loved to go running outside! Maybe next week?
Cross Training: None today...

Strength Training: It was my usual day off from ST, so I didn't do any, and wouldn't have anyway...
And that's my Sunday. I hope tomorrow brings improving health into my home! It seems like we've ALL been sick within a week and a half of each other. Ugh. Just no fun. I hate this time of year! I'm going to make a cup of herbal tea to soothe my throat, relax with a book or some TV, and head off to bed to rest up for my busy week. Until later...
