Project Pixie Dust: Day 91 02-12-11

Wow, so it's hitting me today that we are exactly one month out from our moving date. We actually close on March 4 which is (eek) just three weeks away, but we're not actually going to shove all of our stuff into a truck and drive it over there until a week after that...mainly because the logistics of moving on March 4/5 didn't quite come together right for us. In any event, it's really going to sneak up on us, I know, especially since I'll be away for almost a week of that time for a business trip! Today we hauled all of our boxes out of the storage unit so we can slowly start packing stuff away. It feels a bit silly on one level to be packing so early, but I don't want to get to March 11 and find out that I have to get everything into boxes within 24 hours. So we're starting now, so we have time to do a good job!

Besides grocery shopping and dragging out boxes and old newspapers, I got some nice workouts in: making up all my strength training, walking at the gym, and a little aerobics before bed. The only bad news is that I think I may be coming down with something, and I hope to heaven that it isn't Bruce's strep throat...what a Valentine's Day gift that would be, eh? I have a bit of a sore throat and was seriously dragging by the end of the day. Hopefully just a false alarm...I hope.

Notice that I have added a new tracking item to my posts, which is for logging all of my food into SparkPeople. Even if I have a crummy day, I want to be at least writing it down for accountability and to allow myself to look at what my eating habits are doing over time. So here goes nothing!

Drink my water, 64+ ounces: DONE (64 days running)!

Eat five servings of fruits and veggies: DONE (42 days running)!

You bite it, you write it: DONE (1 day running)!

Eat mindfully all day and night: I give myself a B+ today. Opening up the tracker again motivated me to think about my decisions a little more. We did have lunch at Taco Bell, but that didn't completely mess up my day, and I stayed comfortably within my calorie (and other) limits. Not a bad start!

Running: No running today, but I'm supposed to go tomorrow...however, if this sore throat and fatigue is brewing into a real illness, I may have to call it off. Pft.

Cross Training: Treadmill time with Cupcake Wars! Wow, was that a site for sore eyes! I have not seen that show in forever...luckily most of the cupcakes didn't look all that appetizing to me, so it didn't motivate me into a Valentine's Day related cake binge. Whew. It was interesting to watch, for sure. I ended up walking 4.28 miles at a comfortably brisk pace, with a few hills thrown in for good measure. In the evening, I did some aerobics too, but cut the workout a bit short to 43 minutes because I was starting to feel SUPER tired. Total's virtual mileage total is 7.15.

Strength Training: I kept going and going and going with this - finished up my core workout (first because I hate it and wanted to get it over with!) and my upper and lower body stuff. Maybe my fatigue is just because I burned myself out?! For some reason, early in the day I just had all this crazy energy I didn't know what to do with...?

Tomorrow will probably just be an easy-ish day. We may drive out to the new house just to look at it. I'll admit somewhat shamefully that I visit its listing on Trulia every day, or just about, to look through the pictures of it and daydream about what I want to do with each room. Crazy, right?! And of course, in the next few weeks I have to figure out how to get to it. Even though we've been out there a few times now, I still have no clue how to drive there if someone were to ask for directions. I may even need the trusty old GPS the first few times I commute so I don't get lost. Well, I never did pretend to have a good sense of direction, so I'm not that surprised! Other than that, I'll play it by ear. If I'm under the weather, I'll probaby just sit around on the couch, play on the computer, maybe wrap up a few knicknacks...oh and do a little laundry because the dirty laundry pile is taking over our bedroom!

Oh and I've about 95% decided to do the Madison Half on Memorial Day weekend, as a birthday present to myself. I just can't help myself!
