Day #2 Thursday

Yesterday was a VERY difficult day for me. My body was SO sore and I felt that I should stop working out for a day or two to let it rest. Of course that would have meant that the experiment would be over. After talking to my Mom and thinking about what the contestants go through I decided to keep going. If they can do it (and I am sure their bodies are in much more pain than mine was) then I can too!

I decided to take today off from ST and just do cardio. I think that helped out alot. I feel SO much better today, and I feel like I have accomplished something positive and I am ready to move on.

I think I will actually make it through this!!

    I went to 3 different sites and entered my information to find out how many calories I would need to maintain my current weight. I took the lowest and the highest, then subtracted the 500 calories for my deficit.

    I also like that you increased what you ate a bit. Don't forget that food is not the enemy!!! It is the FUEL to let us do what we are able to do!!!! Also, do not forget the importance of stretching even after ST. They don't show it on the the TV show but I would be willing to bet that the contestants DO stretch! Remember also if you are doing a FULL body ST workout then you need to take a day off from ST between days to let it recoup. If you want ST daily then you need to focus on different groups of muscles to do on different days.

    Another important thing to remember is that we only see clips of their workouts merged together so we don't have a full sense of how their days and weeks are structured.

    At first, being sore is terrible. Later on you will be happy when you're sore. It's a remider that you are pushing yourself to new lengths. Discovering muscles you didn't know you had.
    Next time you're really sore try rewarding yourself with a massage...instead of being tempted to skip a workout. Then the workout will clear out the lactic acid that the massage breaks up out of your muscles.
    Glad to hear you overcame your temptation to skip and did it anyway. That is definately a WIN.
