How could I forget....

Thursday, February 10, 2011

Today was weigh in day for my BL team.....I was nervous about this.....TOM is visiting (and I have been trying to ignore it's visit due to food cravings - thus explains the cookies yesterday), and I did a late night run last night - which usually means water retention the next day.....

So with my eyes closed, in my tshirt and undies I stepped on the scale...hubby walked in and asked me what I was doing - if I am going to use the scale - I need to open my eyes....so I can read it....I told him I couldn't and he read it for me....it's the old school dial kind, so when he looked down he said 150....with that my eyes flew open.....150 would mean 3 pounds....but the sad news was that at his angle it looked like 150 - in reality it was 151....but that was a 2 pound loss for the week....YAHOOOO......

I am very happy - I lose 6 pounds during this 10 week challenge - and I'm OK with that. I'm not loosing quickly - but I am also building muscle -so the two must work together....

I also read Sparkguy's blog today.....for all of you runner's check it out: www.sparkpeople.com/mypa

It is talking about all of the new running tools, and running plans.....so.....I checked the plans out -and I think the running plan will work better for me - than the C25K.....I have the ability to run 4 miles right now - with a few walk breaks here or there - and the C25K is great - don't get me wrong - but the workout time is short --- the Spark running plans are longer - 40 minutes.

I'm going to jump in at week 2, which is a 4 to 1 run walk ratio for 40 minutes....that will be a longer calorie burn, and allow me to shove some hills into the mix too....

I also signed up for the virtual 5K that is being held on April 10-16.....figure that is a good goal. Thought about going for the 10K - but that is a littl ambitious, especially if I'm going to keep up with Insanity too....and I want to do that - I am going to build muscle there.....

I know - two blogs in one day - but I forgot to report on the scale!!!! WHOO HOO!

Awesome job! Keep with it and you'll just keep losing more! The good thing about losing weight slowly is people who lose weight slowly are more likely to keep it off! I've read this in numerous places. I'm sure you have too! :-)

    Congratulations on your loss.

I am really excited about the new running programs as well, and signed up for the virtual 5k. It is nice to have a clear fitness goal to work towards.

I knew it! I knew you'd have a great loss this week! emoticon
I signed up for that virtual 5k, too. I was tempted to do the 10k, but decided not to push myself just yet. This will be fun!
