Addendum to January 14th blog about jogging a mile

Sunday, February 06, 2011

Today was the day! I got my stuff on grabbed my fat dog ( cuz that way if i collapsed in a heap from shear exhaustion I could always say I tripped over the leash) and away we went. I did my warm up, got to my jogging point, sized it up and took off. I was figuring maybe 1/4 mile then walking the rest, moving is moving right? So I had no idea how far 1/4 mile was, so I just kept going. I even managed to do a sprint to incorporate some anarobics. (it was just coincident it happened to be about the time that black lab pitbull mix came rushing out to welcome us to his neighborhood) at that time I did a short talk test also (RUN FAT DOG RUN!) note to self: bring raw meat next time. I hit my mid point in disbelief that I had actually just ran 1/2 mile, after all my thoughts on running are; Running is for criminals and bargain hunters on black friday. Of course our new found friend was waiting right there where we out ran him. I could hear him cheering us on with barks of encouragement as we charged past him in a blurr. Heck before I knew it I was at my cool down point. Fat dog and I strutted like we had just finished a marathon. I c0uld here the crowd cheer ( in my head ). I even fist bumped fat dog. I may just turn this into an every Sunday event.

Are you going to scope out a different course so that you don't go past the lab/pitbull? Or maybe you ought to invite him along...
