The Unrational Hungry

Saturday, February 05, 2011

Okay so, I didn't exactally meet my calories yesterday and I did do strength training and that can be counter productive. Well, this morning I woke up and OMGOODNESS I was sooooo hungry ....
In my mind I was thinking ... One bagel is not going to be enough ... Maybe I should make me an egg and an egg white with it so that I will be satisfied ...

Well, I decided that I was just going to eat the bagel with some light cream cheese and an orange. I was half way through the bagel and I was starting to feel full .... WOW ... I have been so used to eating these LARGE portions that it is hard to retrain my mind when it is in hungry mode that a "normal" portion will satisfy me ...

I found that if I fixed it for myself, I would feel bad if I didn't eat all of it. Even though I knew I was full, I would still eat what eve was on my plate either because of guilt (I hate wasting food) or because I just wanted to taste it....

Self discovery is so enlightening ...

It is surprising the amount of food it actually takes to get full and all the food that we just eat because. I do find however that I do better if I eat protein (like egg whites) so although I might not always be hungry for it, it keeps me fuller longer.
