Feelin' puny

Friday, February 04, 2011

I have a major sinus headache. I stayed home sick yesterday, and don't want to be at work today. But I have some meetings I can't miss so here I am. No exercise yesterday. Just sleep. Lots of sleep. emoticon

I tried to drink plenty of OJ (I HATE drinking my calories, but I made myself do it) emoticon

My mom gave me some "Umcka" to take. Anyone heard of this stuff? It's a South African root that is supposed to reduce sick time and symptoms. It is NASTY!! I don't know yet if it does what it's supposed to, but I am back at work quicker than the guy who shared this illness.

Hopefully, I'll feel better for the weekend. Between UFC, Super Bowl and regular errands, I have a lot to do.

    Hope you feel better soon!
We have a few tricks for sinus problems. I will list them in case you want to try them.
    1. Nettie pot to clear the gunk out with the germs.
    2. We push on the little indentation in the eyebrow bone. Feel your eyebrow, you will find it. When we push on it, it must release something because it seems to really help over time.
    3. Nose. This one is hard to describe. Normally when you have a headache & you rub your nose it helps a little sometimes. BUT someone showed me that if you push on the front of the bone in your nose (both sides) and you push straight back instead of up or from the side, it really makes a big difference. So, from the outside you are closing the nostril & pushing on the front of the bone. (If you could push your finger straight through, it would stick out the back not top of your head). Usually when I am having sinus trouble and I do this, I will need to blow my nose within a few minutes because it actually releases the gunk. Don't know why or how, but it works for me. This alone has probably kept me from antibiotics & the doctor's office over 10 times in the last few years. It makes a huge difference.

I hope you get better soon!
