Wow! I just realized this morning that over the past few weeks, my cravings for sugar have significantly diminished. When I first started this lifestyle change, I stocked up on 100 cal. puddings and yogurts and was eating them every day. Now, I can proudly say that it's been over a week since I've had one of those pudding cups! That makes me proud. I have been able to say "no" to desserts almost completely. All this isn't to say that I will never eat sweets again. I'm sure I will, but that compulsion, the "I MUST HAVE IT NOW!" is gone. Even if my scale isn't moving much, there's a major sign of progress for me.

Another thing I learned today (from an article, but I don't remember which one): Eating after 7pm is not bad in and of itself! The article said that your body burns calories at pretty much the same rate throughout the day. The danger of eating after 7 (or 8 or 9) is that we tend to binge more at that time of night. We start munching...then eating...then gorging. This all fits in because last night around 9:30 after working out, I was still about 100 calories under 1200. I knew that it was important to get in my calories, and so I had a snack that added up to 100 calories. Even though it wasn't much, I felt guilty because I knew I was crossing the forbidden "7pm" line. So, it was nice reading that article and knowing that I made the right decision.
