Lucky me, the sun is shining!

I am so happy that the sun is shining today! I just had to get outside. At 9am it was only 10 degrees but no wind, no sleet, so I bundled up myself and the 9 year old and headed out. We worked on chipping out the sidewalks, but that was hard going! So we decided to PLAY instead. We explored the back yard. The ice was over an inch thick in places! My son found cool imprints in the ice, like animal prints and the company that made his swing. Then we headed out to the neighborhood park and spent half an hour exploring and walking around the park. Everything was sparkling with ice. Every tree, every rock, every piece of equipment! I wish I would have had my camera. There were tree limbs down everywhere, so I decided to avoid walking under the trees. We were outside for a total of one hour, then we headed home to warm up.
Around three o'clock when the sun had been shining for awhile, I attacked those sidewalks again. It was still hard going, but when my hubby came home, he jumped right in to help and we cleaned up the front steps all the way to the street.
It wasn't supposed to get over 18 degrees today but right now it is 26 degrees. Unfortunately, the melting water is instantly refreezing. It might be a mess again tomorrow, but I am not going to worry about it right now. I was supposed to be traveling this weekend, but my trip has been postponed until March. Crazy weather!!!
Now I am going to plan out my Chinese New Year dinner. Yum!
