February!

Thursday, February 03, 2011

This means we are over halfway though winter! Yay! It still seems like a long way to go, but I try to look at it in a more positive light. I can't wait to get back outside and be more active.

This past week I only lost .2 lbs, but at least I lost! It's definitely not as good as I was hoping, but I will be happy with any progress, no matter how small. If I can just get my butt in gear and get more exercise I know I will lose more quickly. My eating habits have really improved despite them already being quite healthy. I know that is helping. Since I reset my nutrition goals on here I am eating less calories per day than I was before, so that is contributing to my weight loss right now. I am also still trying to move as much as possible, including things like tapping my feet or wiggling my legs when I sit, because I know every little bit adds up. I am going to get a new pedometer and start tracking my steps again, because I've found that really motivates me to move around more. As far as the goals I set for myself a couple of weeks ago...

1. I am not getting in my 10 minutes of exercise every day. With such a small goal, I'm not happy with myself for not achieving it.

2. I am tracking my food every day. I do need to work on counting out/measuring portion sizes, though, because I just estimate.

3. I am making a conscious effort to drink at least 4 bottles of water each day (which equals just over 64 ounces). I am doing pretty well so far, but I have not been successful every day.

I feel positive about this, so I am sticking to it. I know I can reach my goals if I just keep taking it day by day. Off to the treadmill!
