Gaining Swim Confidence

I had my third swim lesson tonight. It went really well!

Week 1 - total of 600 yards, longest swim (w/o fins) of 100 yards
Week 2 - total of 700 yards, longest swim (w/o fins) of 150 yards
Week 3 - total of 750 yards, longest swim (w/o fins) of 200 yards... a personal best!!!

And, we did the 200 yards in about 5 minutes! I was thinking the 500 meters I'll be swimming would take me 30 minutes. Nope! I don't know how long it'll take, but I'm looking at more like 15-18 minutes! I can handle that! Of course, I still need to improve my stroke AND stamina. But, I'm working on it! And gaining confidence with every swim!

    Wow! Your time is improving really fast. I think you'll be able to do the 500 meters in less than 15-18 minutes. Good for you! emoticon

    Wow, your tri swim distance is far! I guess that is the true sprint distance, but both of the tris I'm doing are less than half of that distance.

    You are getting me sooo excited to start my swim clinic on Saturday!
