One Man & A Cheap, Plastic Shovel

Tuesday, February 01, 2011

Whew! Mother Nature served up a great whopper of a snow-shoveling day today! Did my driveway, the neighbor's on the north side of us and 1/2 of the neighbor on the south side of us before their mother kicked her two able-bodied teens out the front door to do the other half...lol!

After I finished I looked around at all the mountains of snow I piled up and thought: hey...not too shabby! :-)

Of course I had some terrific help courtesy of my mp3 player which served his master well by reading my mind and body and dishing out some great pumped up tunes!

Santana's Soul Sacrifice...both the studio and the smokin' hot live versions! I don't Zumba...guess that's not really for guys...? Wish it was...love the latin tunes that seem to speak to Zumba...bet this would be a great candidate! One day I'll cure my two left feet...lol

Check it out:

Live, Woodstock Version: www.youtube.com/watch?v=

The Who: Live At Leeds, both Young Man Blues & Magic Bus

Jackson Browne: Somebody's Baby, Runnin' On Empty

Morphine: Honey White

Blues Traveler: Brother John

Weather Report: Man in the Green Shirt

Incognito: Millenium & Love, Joy & Understanding

And my personal ode to MOVING MOUNTAINS (SO appropriate for this snow shoveling!):

"Well, I stand up next to a mountain
And I chop it down with the edge of my hand."

Make it a SPARKIN' day everyone!

Hi Don, just found your page and blog from a comment you left on WOLFKITY's blog. You are incredible! I love your motivation and it really comes through in your blog. I'll be subscribing to this one! :) Thanks for your spark!

Awesome! And I love the blog title, too! I thought you were going to say that the shovel broke before you did! LOL!!

Hey, btw, Zumba is for guys, too! It was "created" by a man named Beto. There's lots of sculpting/toning strength training in those fun dance moves. I hope you can try it sometime. And even if you don't feel coordinated, keep at it because there is talent and there is skill. You can build skills, ESPECIALLY you can, Don!

I think you should throw caution to the wind and get a Zumbz video you can do in the privacy of your own home. I'll bet you can Zumba as good as any of them with just a teeny bit of practice!! AND I think you'd love it!!! Have you never seen the infometials? Those hot Latin guys!!! Oh, yeah, it's a guy thing, too. hehe
Anyway, you're doing great, but be careful and don't overdo!!

    (Love The Who!)

    Have a great week!

Way to go, Don! I like shoveling snow--it's this ice that I hate. (sigh)

Phew ! You certainly got your workout today. I expect to be home helping my brother dig out the house. However, for the moment, I am stuck at work. Yes, I had to drag my keister to work. ugh...

Anyway, you're an asset to the community by helping your neighbors dig out !!!

Round one of the storm is just about finished here. Round two starts up tomorrow morning. That's when I probably will take a "sick of snow" day to help shovel out the house. ugh again...

What a nice way to burn some extra calories. Too funny about the neighbor's boys. You didn't say, "no, no, let me finish up"? emoticon

The owners HUbby showed up and i was 1/2 way done... He was really appreciative.. I was like hey anytime! He asked me if i was running today.. I said.. no the shoveling is more than enough..lol...
