This weeks exercise

Tuesday, February 01, 2011

I've been working up my strength and I decided I needed to step it up this week. I created a six day workout program from my DVD collection. For me it is a perfect mix of strength, cardio, dance and stretching. Each day is tough, but when I'm finished I feel good and have plenty of energy to finish daily chores. I just finished day four yesterday, and my upper back is tender from ripped to the core (the big weight lifting session of the week). But that's okay, today is just dance, dance, dance. I have a lot of DVDs. I just got Bob Harper's series. Now I have to plan a week with his DVDs!!

Day 1
40 min. turbo sculpt (turbo jam series)
44 min. Salsa Blast (Core Rhythms)
20 min. Vata Yoga (Dosha yoga DVD)

Day 2
55 min. No More trouble zones
20 min. Pita Yoga (Dosha yoga DVD)

Day 4
62 Min. Ripped to the Core (Ripped series)
20 min Turbo Jam (turbo jam series)
20 min. Pita Yoga (Dosha yoga DVD)

You are absolutely insane. I don't even think I could do that if I had the time!

I am loving the strength training though... we were genetically blessed with glorious strong muscles, weren't we? I upped Jillian's NMTZ to 2x per week and I just finished the video for the first time (well, the first time in two years... it counts!) I started using a heart rate monitor for cardio and found out I've been burning way more calories than I thought I was... I was eating 1200-1400 calories a day and it should have been closer to 1700/1800. I am going to try eating more and see if it helps me feel better.
