Proof That I'm Doing Something Right -- Someone Noticed A Difference In Me!

Someone has finally noticed a difference and a sign of improvement!! *sigh of relief!* I was starting to think I was getting nowhere!

Today is the last day of my first month at The Spark. Well, not exactly "at" The Spark. I joined January 30th, 2010. During that year, I read, I researched, I watched fitness videos, and I read blogs. It took me an entire year to convince myself that "I CAN Do This!" I'd think to myself "If they can do it, I certainly can!" So, I decided that on January 1st, (well, more like January 3rd LOL had to get that last celebration in for New Years) I would start The Spark.

During my first month, I started eating healthy and I got better with drinking my 8 glasses of water per day. Still haven't quite figured out how to get the correct amount of calories in each day that I need, but I'm getting there. I've turned down some really tempting foods (doughnuts!) and I've cut back completely on sweet tea! I never thought I'd see the day that I chose water over sweet tea! At the end of the month, I'm very satisfied with the healthy choices I've made involving food.

Also during this month, I have been working out. I will admit up front that I could have worked out alot more than what I did. However, I am satisfied with the amount that I did work out, since it is alot more compared to the amount of exercise I got before starting The Spark.....sitting on the couch watching tv all day. LOL. For the majority of the month, I worked out 3 days a week using the Fit, Firm, and Fired Up DVD. Some days I would work out for only 10 minutes. Other days, I would work out randomly throughout the day for 10 minutes (10 minutes in morning when I wake up, 10 minutes in the afternoon, and 10 minutes after supper). Guess it really all depeneded on the weather and the mood I was in, but I made sure I got AT LEAST two workout days in each week.

So! Throughout the month, I'd get on the scales. I never done it at the same time every day or never done it on a certain day because I didn't want to upset myself if the numbers were lower than I expected. Honestly, I wanted to see how long it would take someone around me to notice an actual difference in my weight by looking at me, as opposed to going by a number.

And that moment finally came! Last night, my boyfriend came over. While I was in the kitchen cooking supper for us, he said "Baby, you look GREAT! Those pants that you have on right now actually look saggy in the back!" I looked at him like he was crazy at first haha. Then I went and looked in the mirror, and AH HA! He was right! My jeans weren't snug against my butt and the backs of my thighs! I kinda thought those pants felt big when I put them on, but I wanted to see if anyone noticed and how long it would take! When I heard that, I was so happy that I could have cried!

There were moments, in the beginning, where I would think to myself "I might as well give up, because the numbers aren't going down!" but I didn't quit. I worked harder! And I DID IT!!!

So now that I've done this much in my first month and done so well, I will be working full force next month! And I can't wait!!
