I completed everything on my daily checklist today. That checklist, posted where my whole family can see it, has really been fantastic for me. My husband reminds me to update each night. The kids look at it to see what my schedule for the day is. It is one of the best organizational decisions I have made lately!

I have had a terrific week and weekend. I have finished everything on my lists and accomplished so much. My exercise is getting closer to where I ultimately want to be, although I can't walk outside as much as I would like, since the weather has been so nasty. My calories have mostly been in range. My next goal is to plan out all the family meals for the week. Right now I have been picking out a couple of meals we will have at some point during the week and then keeping the cupboards stocked. My goal is to have 7 dinners planned based on our weekly schedule BEFORE I go shopping so there is no last minute shopping or too much falling back on quick meals. I have done this in the past and it works really well. The drawback is that it takes time to prepare the list. I just have to make it my weekly habit and add it to the daily checlist once a week!
In other news, it looks like we might be trapped inside our house for a few days here in central Indiana... the ice storm is just starting and the school closures are starting to roll in. The grocery store shelves are empty in our little town. All day businesses and have been preparing for the worse. I ran errands all morning and afternoon, and the incoming ice storm was the only thing on everyones mind today. Normally I don't do "panic shopping" before storms, but we did make sure we had fuel and food to get us through the next couple of days... just in case!!! My husband just came home and said the sleet is instantly icing up and the windshield wipers don't really help. I'm glad everyone is home and all the errands are complete!
I jennifer I must say your a real inspiration.........I've tried diets and workouts so many times......and they never last long of course.......I go for surgery sometime this month so I know once that is done I will have to lose weight and start really eating right......I've taken your idea for meal planning only I'm doing month at a time because thats how we shop.....keep up the great work jennifer..... 2727 days ago
