I can hula hoop, right?

Cause I don't think so.

Today I bought this:

I've been obsessing over hula hooping. There are quite a few things I'd like to do one day: become a trained personal trainer, hoop dance, belly dance, pole dance, conquer barre workouts, and maybe that's it. There are more plans because I'm weird but those come and go through my mind. I tried to hula hoop using Betty Hoops Dance Hoop Workout years ago (gaiam doesn't even sell it anymore). One of my friends makes hula hoops. I had her make me a custom one but she hasn't finished it until this evening. Before I got that inbox, I went to CVS. There was hoopnotica's hoop. Whooop. I bought it. I figured the DVDs alone would be worth it.

So can I hoop yet? Heck no. I'm still hopeless. :( I've tried to find any basic how to hula hoop video there was and I can't do it still. I've broken a couple nails trying to do this. She will teach me but I got to figure out a time that we can do it.

I've also been a bit sick. My car has been fixed (so I'm broke). Although the great thing is my husband asked the man to fix my back window and I HAVE A FULLY FUCTIONAL window. I just have to clean my car out really good. I could get a home health job now if I really wanted too. ^_^

Anyways my body doesn't look different. My clothes don't fit different. Although I have lost....4 lbs, 2 inches off my waist, 0.5 inches off my hips. Everything else stayed the same. So yay me? I'm also trying that weigh yourself every day thing with Google 15 to see how that is. Although I tend to forget about it and weight myself full. Eep.

If I record myself hula hooping, would any hula hooping-nistas critique it?

Sounds like fun. I saw the set at CVS a few weeks ago. I will have to run down there and see if they still have it.

    Have fun !!!

You lost 4lbs! You should be happy! It's a start of more pounds to come off. Keep going at it. Keep practicing your hula hoop and you'll get better at it. I can just hula hoop, but I cannot do any fancy things with it! It is hard! Just taking one step forward is hard.

emoticon you!! Congrats on the 4 lbs. Way to go!

funny funny funny... Hula Hooping is hard work. I remember a few years ago I saw a hula-hoop and thought I would give it a go. ...I mean I did it like crazy as a kid!

I put it around me, tried to swirl around, and it went straight to the ground in about 3 secs.

crazy... I've been wanting to buy one, but I didn't see them at Walmart, so I thought maybe they didn't make them anymore. Good to know they are still around.

Keep it up, you will learn again with practise. It's the practise that is the work out..

    cheers, June

I am sure you can hula hoop, if I can everyone can. I am fairly new myself, so I don't know that I would be of assistance in providing tips. What I can say is don't give up, eventually you have to pick the hoop up off the floor much less :)

Try not to be discouraged! You're loosing weight and you're loosing inches! That's awesome! emoticon

We all gained weight over a long period of time, it takes time to lose it too!

You're doing great! Good luck on the hoola hoop! (I know I've never been able to do it) emoticon
