EPIC
That's the word our awesome team leader VEGLILS has chosen for 2011! I couldn't agree more. We're going to turn SA into one of the healthiest cities! Single men will hear of our beauty and swarm in oh wait.. they did that. It's called Basic Training over at Lackland. LOL
Well, anyways.. Our EPIC challenge begins on Sunday and lasts 4 weeks. We will start new and fresh each month. This first month, we are focusing on the following goals:
EPIC: Exercise, Participation, Improvement, Calories
Each week every participant can earn UP TO 7 points. The points will be awarded for the following:
E-- Exercise-- possible 3 points per week
A: Burn 2011 calories each week: 1 point
B: Exercise for 10 minutes 3 times a week: 1 point
C: Exercise for 30 minutes 3 times a week: 1 point
(if you achieve C, you also get the points for B)
P-- Participation-- possible 1 point per week
To get your one point you must do the following each week:
Post one blog
Post on the SA team page 3 times
Welcome 1 new member by comment
Comment on 1 member's sparkpage
I-- Improvement-- 1 possible point per week
This section will change with each leg of the challenge! For our first leg, you will be asked to pick ONE of the following HEART-HEALTHY choices to focus on:
A. stop smoking if you are a smoker
B. stay in your recommended cholesterol range 5 out of 7 days a week
C. reach your recommended fiber range 5 out of 7 days a week
D. stay in your recommended sodium range 5 out of 7 days a week
C-- Calories-- 2 possible points per week
A. Stay in your calorie range 5 of 7 days: 1 point
B. Stay in your calorie range 7 of 7 days: 1 point
(if you achieve B, you also get the points for A)
Points: Exercise 3, Participation 1, Improvement 1, Calories 2 = 7 possible points per week
I have decided to track my goals via Sparks "Other goals" it's all set up and ready to go! I have chosen to take on reaching my recommended fiber range 5 out of 7 days for my improvement.
As far as my plan for exercise, I'm still working on that. I've "rebooted" my C25K program via mi coach on my blackberry. Took it out for a spin yesterday and REALLY noticed that I've certainly been slacking. So I will be doing the C25K program 3x's a week. I'd like to return to Body Combat classes at the gym. I was promised Heidi Klum's butt if I stuck with it! I will do that 2x a week.
Sunday: walk
Monday: C25K
Tuesday: ST + cardio at gym
Wed: BC
Thursday: C25K
Friday: BC
Saturday: C25K
I need to add one more day of ST, hmmmm.. I'll figure that out.
This first leg of EPIC I will be concentrating on getting back into the game. I was pretty on fire with our SPICE challenge, so I'll be getting back to that point this first month!
This is gonna be EPIC!!!
