Getting started

Thursday, January 27, 2011

Oh, gosh this is like the one millionth time I tried to diet... I have done so well in the past getting started and loosing about 30 lbs... What happens every single time I have a bad weigh in and then I get discouraged and yeah.... go el nuts-o and just eat whatever I want and gain everything back! ugh! I'm soooo sick of the dam YO YO! I want to get to a healthy weight but Im so afraid this will be another round on the yo yo! If I start doing well and get thrown off the wagon one day how do you get back?.... At this point starting this whole diet crap is not exciting to me! Im not happy. I dont want to excersize, I would love to eat what I crave and just do whatever... Im at my heaviest now ever!!! EVER! my liver sucks my joints sucks and I just feel sucky! but yet... I kinda don't give a crap! I know I gotta get motivated and I need to do this so I wont feel like shit anymore and my knees will be happy again... shouldnt that be enough.. Not for me ... becuase I know this is going to take a year and a complete lifestyle change and Im going to have to give up alot of stuff I enjoy... How do I even get started!!!! mentally....? Thats the question of the day emoticon

Don't give up....EVER! It is no doubt difficult! I think and want food all the time too! I wouldn't want to stop my self either...sometimes..but the choice is yours. Let your health get worse, stay the same course and hope things stay the same or at least don't get worse...or very slowly make 1 change at a time. Take 5 for yourself the night before and visualize tomorrow...that 1 thing you will do...perhaps it is just logging into SP or get 20 minutes of walking (perhaps on the lunch break head over to the mall and walk a few laps)! I wouldn't mind coordinating schedules for a weekly lunch walk!

But here we both are...starting again but we need the right attitude from the start! But you also have to be ready to do the work and want to make the change. I don't think looking at the big # to loose is the right strategy. Maybe for a week or 2 put away your scale and just focus on starting some new goals. Think what could work for you? How can you stay motivated? Doing it with others?

I'd joing some spark teams and ask this question there. So many face this Q and there are likely some awesome ways of thinking about this or strategies that people will suggest!

Your on a new path! Welcome back!
