12 Resolutions

Wednesday, January 26, 2011

I am a person that likes to make a resolution at the beginning of the new year. Sometimes I succeed, and sometimes not. As the new year approached I started to ponder what I would resolve to change or try new in 2011. My resolutions are usually not real serious. For example last year I tried to say "please" and "thank-you" more. A couple years ago I embarked on the resolution that has given me the most pleasure; I resolved to read the Harry Potter series. I had no problem with that one! I am now a huge HP Fan! But this year it just wasn't coming to me. I'm turning 50 this year so everything seems more dramatic. Even choosing a resolution? So, because I'm turning 50, how about changing it up a bit. I won't choose 1 big one for the year but 12 smaller ones. One for each month. Sure, why not. When I thought about it differently 12 resolutions came to me in a snap.

January is organize and begin a fitness program. SparkPeople!
February - get our taxes done. I am usually a April 15th kind of tax girl.
March - go to the dentist :( I haven't gone in more years than I can count.
April - learn a new craft.
May - run my weekend errands on my bicycle.
June - write a letter.
July - take a vacation.
August - run around the golf course.
September - go to 4 movies.
October - throw myself a party.
November - make a new recipe for Thanksgiving.
December - go out dancing.

I want to ask you, "What do you think?" But, I'm not sure what I'm thinking so it might rock my boat a little more than I could handle. With the help of SparkPeople (thank you AMANDALADY for turning me on to it) I can say...January? CHECK!

I'll keep you posted.

This if FABULOUS! The goals are all things that I know are important to you, and you have scheduled each of them into the perfect time of year. I am so excited for you.

It also reminds me of the spark method.. You are going to do a lot over the course of the year, but through small, manageable steps.

Well done. You are an inspiration! emoticon
