I made my goal!!!

Friday, January 21, 2011

This morning I weighed myself (even though it's not my weigh in day..) and the scale said 150!! Almost 30 pounds lost. Yeah, I was so excited, but nervous also..... That was the goal I set when I joined sparkpeople. My cruise with my husband is in one day, so I barely made it.

Now what? I'm pretty anxious about the next step in this journey for me. I've been here before, but have never been able to maintain myself at a decent weight. Every time I have made it here, I have given up and gained back everything. So, while it's exciting to be here, it also makes me a bit nervous.

I am happy with my weight loss, but could stand to lose 10-20 more. I haven't been there since I got married 20 years ago. I set a new goal of 130 because that seemed more comfortable that just setting a goal of maintaining... When I looked at my calorie range for maintaining, I got pretty nervous... I can only hope that I have learned so much more with Spark than I did in previous diets, that I can sustain my healthy eating habits and exercise routine. I love eating healthy and I love working out!!!! I love the way I look and feel so much better than when I was heavier. Why did I stop last time? I'm not really sure....

I am going on a 7 day cruise. I plan to work out 3-4 times while on the ship. I have packed my exercise clothing and running shoes. I plan on making good food choices for my body while not necessarily stressing about calories. I plan to go parasailing and swim with the dolphins. I guess we'll see where I am when I return. I only hope that I can return with the same determination that I have had up to this point. Come on Elaine, you can do this.

Have a fabulous trip! The cruise is not really about the food or amount of it. It's about the beauty of the world and the people you'll meet and share with, don't you think? emoticon
