"Your Shape Evolved" Review!

Friday, January 21, 2011

I bought the exercise video "yourshape evolved" for Xbox 360 Kinect. It's pretty good. I like to switch things up. I've only used it twice. The first night, I was soaked with sweat just working out with the personal trainer. Last night, I did more of the fitness classes (I think that's what it was). I like the kickboxing on it! I also did gym exercises on it. They are more like games the whole family can play. It was cool! I think for exercise purposes though, I'll probaby stick to personal trainer. It's really good and making sure you have good form and is movin to the rhythm. All an all, it's pretty good. I'll use it until I get tired and go to something else :)

Have a great day!

Thanks for the quick reply. I have been trying to navigate the site and did find some articles relating to fitness DVD's. I would assume that the calorie count would be fairly accurate for the Kinect system. Looking forward to trying it out-soon I hope. Have a wonderful evening!

    @ Katriech

Hi, in response to your question, Yourshape lets you know how many calories you've burned after each activity. Actually it shows you as you're going along with it. When I logged it on sparkpage, I "manually enter" my exercise, the minutes, and how many calories burned.

Yourshape was starting off a little slow for me, so I found the Men's Ultimate Fat burn on there, and I've been doing that in congunction with other cardio and kickboxing. It's really a good workout. Kickin' my butt! :)

I just bought this game and I'm looking forward to trying it out! How do you track this in your Fitness Tracker? Is there a calorie burn count in the program that you would enter into your tracker or do you count this a different way?? I'm a newbie here-2nd week on the program and I'm feeling more in control than I ever have. Best program out there!! Thanks for your reply!

That sounds cool. I usually work out to exercise tv on demand. but my kids do have an xbox and a wii so I may have to invest in the connect or the fit.

The games were fun...but the exercising is no joke! It is a serious workout. I worked muscles I forgot I had... :)

Its always great to change up what you do for exercise! The bottom line is, though, those are still games, not to mistaken for serious exercise, but a great way to get sedentary people used to the idea of getting moving instead of just sitting there pushing buttons like in the old days. Its a great advancement for video games! As they get better programs evolving, it may replace live instructors -more people replaced by automation..
A Spark friend is really enjoying Dance Revolution on that Kinect. Says it gives her a good workout..
    Enjoy!

It certainly sounds like you get plenty of activity on it.
