Drinking water

This is my new year's resolution- to drink my 8 glasses of water a day. I was doing pretty well drinking two water bottles full. And then I measured it and found out it was only 48 oz, so I was short some. So now I've been trying to drink 2 1/2 water bottles daily. I don't know why this is so hard. For one thing I don't like water and I pretty well have to make myself do it. Now if it was diet coke I wouldn't have a problem. But I know that can't be good for you. I'm doing pretty well during the week but the weekend is a problem for getting the water in. I've tried straws and ice and various tricks. I'm trying to stay away from putting sweet and low in the water, for the sake of limiting my artificial sweeteners(although that does make it better) Anyone else have any tricks? Does it get easier?

    I like a little ice, a squeeze of lemon, and some sweetner. If this is dilute lemonade, so be it. It is better than being dehydrated.

    I have to filter my water, else it makes me bloated. Reverse-osmosis water is about all that I can consistently get, but it does not hydrate me well, so I put some fresh lemon juice in it and let it sit about 20 minutes before I drink it. I cook with filtered water, too.

    A lot of water districts add baking soda to water to balance any acidity to neutral, but contaminants often come in the soda. These might make your subconscious reject water.

    When I exercise, breathing more and/or sweating lightly, I do want water! Just calm breathing makes us exhale about a quart of water a day. emoticon
