Back in the Water

I am so elated that I finally made it back to water aerobics. Getting there today proved difficult, and I think my committment was tested. Since yesterday was my first day back at the gym, and of course I went hard, my entire body was sore today... especially my arms. So all day I was telling myself that I was not gonna work out, although in the back of my mind, I know that working out was exactly what I needed to do. So this evening, I made up my mind to go to water aerobics class. I dressed in my swimsuit under my regular clothes before I left home, so I packed my towel and undies in tote to take with me. Well, I got all the way across town to the "Y" then realized I had walked out of the house without my tote. In that moment, I felt defeated and resolved to go back home. Just as I had given in for today, I thought about the Family Dollar store just up the street. I sent my sister to the store to get me a towel while I went to class. I passed the test.

In water aerobics, we do a lot of work with our upper body and the water weights. It was pure torture, but I loved every minute of it. I did not opt for lighter weights, and I did not give up. I pushed myself to get through each exercise and it felt good. I was on pace with everyone and ahead of a few others. When I got out, my legs felt like noodles, so I know I had worked them good along with the rest of me. I should sleep good tonight. I am so proud of not letting anything stop me from working out. Yeah Me!!! emoticon
