Glad I worked out today

Tuesday, January 18, 2011

Today was just horrible at work. I was off yesterday and it never fails that when I take a day off there's so much work to be done when I return. Every time I come back I think "why did I take time off"? I was so stressed out that I told myself I had to come home and work out. I was originally planning to take today off from working out but I knew that was going to be the best way to relieve my stress. So I came home and did my Leslie Sansone workout and I feel great. Some of the knee crunches had me thinking of the folks who made my day challenging and that made me crunch even more! Another thing to reward myself on is the fact that usually when I get stressed at work I reach for bad food. Today I grabbed a yogurt instead of heading to the vending machine. What progress!Good thing I had a yogurt there to choose. I made good food choices all day and worked out. I even made yams tonight which is something I normally wouldn't cook so that's progress too. I hope I'm starting to get the hang of this!

I've done my computer work early so now I have to go research some workouts. I'm enjoying the 2 mile Sansone but I think I need to have some other 30 minutes workouts lined up. My goal is to get up in the morning and get my workout in. This will continue to be a busy week at work and if I can manage to not oversleep and get up early and workout I think that will help my stress level.

Awesome job on getting your workout in!!! I prefer morning workouts but I'm also enjoying doing 30 minutes in the am and fitting in 30 minutes at night. Exercise is a great stress reducer for me. I enjoy boxing on my Wii, I really want a bag to punch and that's on my wish list. I recently purchased Body Gospel by Donna Richardson Joyner (Beachbody.com) it has 3-4 DVDs with various workouts on each of the DVDs between 10 minutes to 30 minutes. I truly have enjoyed the ones I've tried out.Best of blessings to you on this journey

That's awesome! I had a similar thing happen to me last night. It's good to read that exercise makes a difference as much as we fight it we're left thinking: "is that all? that wasn't so bad."
