HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
So I've just got back from 4 AMAAAAAAZING weeks in Ghana! It was literally the best holiday of my life (i've been to Ghana 6 times in the past 8 years, so it's not even like it's a new destination, but seriously it was amazing!). It was made even MORE amazing by all the amazing compliments I got! Cos I see myself everyday, it's hard to really see that i've lost weight. I mean, of course I know the scales have gone down, but to me it's not really that noticeable. But the reactions I got over there (after a year and 3 months since my last trip there) were MIND-BLOWING. The vain person inside me absolutely loved all the attention! lol I've come back with a new-found confidence (and 5 extra pounds, but let's not go into that! hahaha)
SO, my main goal for 2011 is to not be so damn hard on myself, recognise that I am making great changes to my life and body, and to not beat myself up when I make tiny slips. It is the CONSISTENCY that will make the difference, not the small once-in-a-while 'mistakes'.
I'm making myself a list for 2011....something to come back to and check on when I ever feel myself slipping. THIS year, I WILL reach my goal weight, there is no other option:

NUTRITION GOALS
... Drink at least 2 litres of water every single day
... Maximum of 4 packets of crisps a week
... Try lots of new fruits and veggies

FITNESS GOALS
... Gym at least 4x a week, including at least 1 weekday morning session
... Strength training at least once a week (increase to two, then three as the year goes on)
... Some form of 'fun' exercise once a week (netball match, netball training, badminton)
...Run 5k on the treadmill in 30mins or less

IMPORTANT MILESTONES TO REACH THIS YEAR
... Reach goal weight of 170lbs! (21 pounds to go)
... Fit into UK size 14 (US size 12) jeans (I have a lovely big curvy booty lol)
... Find a job that truly makes me happy and satisfied

SELF IMPROVEMENT GOALS
... Stop looking in the mirror and finding all the negatives; be more positive about my body, even if there is still a way to go
... Save more money and plan ahead my monthly budget so I don't overspend
... Don't feel guilty about going to the hairdresser and beauty salon so much; it's all part of making myself feel good and I deserve it

VANITY GOALS
... Wear an itsy bitsy teeny weeny bikini when I next go to Ghana this summer (ok, so not so teeny that it becomes indecent exposure, but you catch my drift...lol)
... Wear a fitted t-shirt and fitted jeans combo
... Do a photo shoot for my 25th birthday (14th November)

FUN GOALS
... Learn how to speak Twi
... Get a new cookbook and learn lots of new recipes. Then have a dinner party to show off all my new dishes
... Make more effort to see my friends

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
