stepping out of your comfort zone

Monday, January 17, 2011

Last week was definitely an interesting one. I stepped out of my comfort zone not just with workouts but family meals. Last week we gave tofu a try and it turned out to be a success! My 2 year old was picking the tofu out of her stir fry and calling it 'toe food' lool Even my husband who has never tried tofu before said it was delicious!

I am a big fan of sushi, but I would never of tried to make it on my own. Well for some strange reason I bought the necessary ingredients and gave it a try. I love the spicy sushi, and I know that sauce on top is made of may, I gave it a try with fat free plain yogurt, salt, Sriracha sauce, and sesame oil. It still needs some tweaking but it wasn't too bad. We didn't use any seafood, we went with just veggies, and tofu.
This was the outcome:

sometimes doing something in a different way makes you appreciate it more. I have lately fallen in love with cutting my apples around the middle (the round part) and they just seem so much more exciting to eat. An apple is really a beautiful fruit, and we seem to miss out on the flower inside by just biting into it, or cutting it from the top to the bottom.
