Today I wanted to share my current plan.
Å few weeks ago, I had a plan that was like a daily checklist that NEVER changes.
Everyday I will eat healthy balanced meals, drink my 8 cups of water, log into sparkpeople, work on a project, practice the piano, and do one other thing (fill in the blank here). I had it written in my notes at sparkpeople and I just daily checked that I did them all.
I have since adjusted my daily program to:
Today I will... and then fill in the things I want to get done THAT DAY. I feel this is more manageble and less disappointing. It also gives me a DAILY chance to focus on specific things that I need or want to accomplish TODAY. Also I will write them on my dry erase board everyday. That way I have a daily visual reminder and a sense of accomplishment as I check them off.
I only have a few rules for my daily list: Keep it managable, keep it simple, and make it slightly challenging.
Here is today's checklist.
Today I will:
Take an outside walk.
Type up the results of a weekend competition.
Finish and print a one page newsletter.
Label patches to be handed out.
Do two loads of laundry.
Drink one glass of cranberry juice.
Log into Sparkpeople.
Track all of today's food.
Post my Sparkpeople blog.
Play the piano.
I have already completed three of these items and I am working on a fourth.
One other note: I am not going to weigh-in until the first monday in February. I already know from experience that the way my clothes fit motivates me MORE than the scale... and it takes time at my current size to really see a difference in the positive direction. My goals are keeping me on track. Well, mostly on track. Weekends are always harder than weekdays for me. That is why I need the daily adjustable checklist!
I won't say "wish me luck." Yesterday my family and I were discussing at the dinner table an interesting concept which I know from experience works.
Dream it, Believe it, Work towards it, and it will happen!
