Well having joined Uni in September, I was enjoying the constant challenge of learning new skills and knowledge within a really interesting field.
Then my OH lost his job and so with no money coming in I decided to call it a day and with uni and go back to working. Which was gutting to be honest but these things in life are meant to try us! So it was now the beginning of November and everybody was getting set up for Christmas, not the best time to be looking for a job and I was sceptical whether I would get anything before x-mas.
As I thought nothing happened, there seemed to be jobs out there and I applied for all that I could but no one was moving on them, obviously waiting for the new year to come in, which I can understand. I was getting more and more frustrated and stressed with not hearing anything of my applications. I had to meet a few agencies, but again, this did not always amount to anything and was a waste of time and money going to see them!
I did get a couple of interviews, one of which I didnt get because they said I had too much experience and the other I just didnt hear back. I did manage to arrange an interview though just before Christmas for a temp role, only one month but would see me through the hard part of the new year and fortunately I got it!
So since 4th Jan I have been working up in London, still job hunting and doing all that I can to make sure that everything is covered and paid for.
As well as all this I have been training as usual and trying to keep the diet in check, although that was difficult over x-mas.
Speaking of which, we managed to get up to my parents for x-mas which was great. I was really looking forward to it but was soon worried that we would not be able to go as the insurance company had decided that the car was in fact a write off. Fortunately we got to keep the car and we have got a new door for it and at a fraction of the cost too! That was a stroke of luck!
X-mas was great and I really enjoyed seeing all my family and catching up. On boxing day we went up to Yorkshire to visit the OH's dad so that was nice. We went for a glorious walk on the yorkshire moors! It was freezing but lovely all at the same time and then we went back and sat in front of the woodburner and had a nice hot cup of tea!
A couple of days later we made our way back south in time for new year, although we did nothing as the OH was not well, we were tired from the travelling also!
Since then it has been on the job hunt again really. Fortunately as per my status I had a few phone calls last week about roles that I had applied for and so I have three interviews set up next week, 2 law firms and one insurance company.
I did have my 2nd interview from GAP last week but unfortunately missed their call today. Not sure whether I want it though as the money is not really sufficient but then thinking if none of the others come through this week then I will be a bit stuffed. Not sure what to do for the best really. There are more things coming in though so I am keeping fingers crossed and hopes up!
On top of all this my OH has still not got another job and so I am getting slightly impatient with the fact that he stays at home whilst I go out to work and put my all into finding another good job that will for the time being keep us! I know it is not as easy for him as he has no qualifications and his experience is in a sector that do not really take on over the winter due to very limited working times and regs.
Anyway, now I have got that out of my system I had better shoot off to bed, just really needed to offload! lol The wonder of blogging, helps to put things into perspective and get it all off the chest.
Oooh, positive note though, I am having a massage on Sunday and cant wait!
