Roommate troubles!

So my boyfriend just moved in with me last night. I am excited to be living with him, but at the same time I am so worried about gaining weight! He has horrible eating habits, and eats mostly junk food. I know he has the right to eat what he wants and I can only control what I put on my mouth. Does anyone have any advice as to how we can live together but still lose weight?

    It is a huge problem, my relative is having that problem magnified with her husband. She had gastric bypass & has gained it all back. I say this to caution you to not let him let you slip. Keep tough & be tougher on him, too. Yes, he has a right to eat what he wants, but it affects your life & both of ya'll's health!! emoticon It was hard with me because my boyfriend could eat anything & it not show. The only way for me to gain some control was to cook for myself & he had to cook for himself, it's not easy, but there are ways to compromise if he refuses to consider both of ya'll's health.

    It will come down to you being in charge of what you put in your mouth. Sounds rather harsh but it is so true.
    My other half will be helpful one day & bring home Ben & Jerrys the next!
    So, it comes down to me. I now keep a wonderful popcycle in the house & lite popcorn & it keeps him stalled on bringing home icecream! It is a Pomegranite/cherry & he loves it. Only 90 calories!
    Everyone will blend diffently together...but above all let him know you are going to eat healthy & if you are designated chef than you are in control of what goes on the table!

    I lived with my boyfriend this past summer and it was hard (because he eats a lot too). I'd try and see if he wants to do the healthy eating with you, like see if he's down for eating healthy foods, not necessarily counting calories but just eating. If you are eating healthy food you'll probably be less likely to eat a lot. Idk about you but I am more likely to binge on pizza than grilled chicken and veggies lol.

    I'd also see if you guys could figure out a schedule where you could workout together. I always liked going with my boyfriend because we pushed each other (and my competitive side made me want to do better than him so I pushed a lot harder at the gym haha) If you don't like gyms or if he doesn't, see if you guys can pick up some other kind of hobby that requires moving.

    All and all try to worry about yourself the most. This is for you. A lot easier said than done when you're around someone eating the foods you probably miss at times (or a lot of the time) and you're trying to eat healthy but hopefully he'll be in it with you. If not, u can each decide what you want for dinner or whatever and then make both. Its a pain but it could work! Good luck!
