I've always loved swimming, however recently my love has become for the swimming and the meditative effect I get while swimming.

I find myself hypnotized by the rhythmic strokes. Counting each stroke 1, 2, 3 breathe... 1,2,3 breathe. Nothing from the outside world interrupting my thoughts. I reach with each stroke, slicing through with my arms and allowing my legs to roll along behind me. No one bothers me while I swim back and forth, counting the laps watching the tiles pass under me.

Even the flip turns seem to be a part of my meditation. As I approach the wall I feel myself concentrating on a specific goal, I take a breath, and follow my body follows behind my head as I flip through the turn. My feet touch the wall and I harness all my power into pushing off the wall and I repeat the cycle.

Sometimes I'm interrupted by a fellow swimmer making chit chat, and it's not that I want to be rude, I only want to enjoy my meditation. No music, no machines beeping no chit chat. Just me and the water.

This makes me want to go back to swimming sooo much! It's exactly what I love about the water.
